Hi! My name is Ella Riches, I am a keen screenwriter and playwright. I specialise in horror, with a deep love for the genre across film and television. This is where I share my work, my process, and the stories I'm building.

I am 24 years old and living in Edinburgh, Scotland. I studied in Dundee and graduated with a 2:1 in English Literature and Film Studies, I went on to complete my masters degree in Screenwriting and Playwriting in St Andrews and graduated with a distinction. I am open to any work and I'm early in my career and actively looking to build connections in the industry.

George Watson's College
My love and passion for film started here. I participated in the journalism club and theatre club, as well as writing for the yearbook committee.
2019-2023
University of Dundee
I continued to grow my passion by studying English Literature and Film Studies. In my extracurricular life, I wrote some short films as well as earning my TEFL certificate. My dissertation focused on the monstrouous feminine in horror films.
2023-2024
University of St Andrews
After graduating from Dundee, I went on to focus my love directly on screenwriting. I studied my masters degree in Playwriting and Screenwriting. I worked alongside industry professionals as well as completing a short film course. My final piece was the pilot episode of a horror anthology series.
